Festmusikken er sikra! Frå Belize kjem The Garifuna Collective med sine bølgjande rytmar frå garifunatradisjonen, som inntil for nokre år sidan var i fare for å døy ut. Grunnleggjaren av The Garifuna Collective, Andy Palacio, var ein av dei som redda musikken, og etter hans død i 2008, har kollektivet halde musikken i live, modernisert den, og gjort den rusta til å møte den globaliserte framtida. Neste band ut er Dizu Plaatjies & Ibauyambo, frå Sør-Afrika. Dizu Plaatjies er kjend for å mikse det meste av impulsar og rytmar inn i prosjekta sine. Han har samarbeidd med både jazz- og technomusikarar, men i sitt eige band handlar det aller mest om musikk som har afrikanske røter. Her er det både kroppsmåling, fargerike drakter og tradisjonelle afrikanske instrument som mbira, fløyter, ugandisk harpe og antilopehorn. Fargerikt altså, og det svingar!

Guaranteed total Party! From Belize we have The Garifuna Collective with their sinuous rhythms from the Garifuna tradition, which a few years ago was in danger of dying out. The founder of the Garifuna Collective, Andy Palacia, was one of those who saved the music, and after his death in 2008, the collective has kept the music alive, modernised it, and prepared it for its meeting with the global future. The next band out will be Dizu Plaatjies & Ibuyambo from South Africa. Dizu Plaatjies is known for mixing just about any and all impulses and rhythms in his projects. He has collaborated with both jazz and techno musicians, but his own band plays primarily music with African roots. You’ll see body painting, colourful costumes, and traditional African instruments such as the mbira, flutes, Ugandan harp and antelope horn. Colourful in all ways, and it rocks!
